SUSTAINABILITY MANAGEMENT

Develop and Deploy Successful Sustainability Strategies

Assuring complete sustainability and complete documentation thereof will be part of the core tasks of strategic management in the future. Increasingly demanding statutory requirements underline the importance of this task. For example, guideline 2014/95/EU, which comes into effect nationally no later than 2016, requires companies to create a statement as to their strategies, risks and results in regard to environmental, social and employee concerns, respect of human rights, fight against corruption and bribery, as well as diversity in management and controls.

At the same time, firms creating sustainability reports, based on guidelines such as the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI), are confronted with large challenges to their methods and processes. On the one hand, validated statements especially about “soft” factors, such as human rights or diversity, are very difficult; while on the other hand, the implementation of sustainability reporting requires goal-oriented knowledge acquisition and a clear understanding of the guidelines, which are often foreign to previous company practices.

msg’s Sustainability Monitoring offers significant advantages over an internal implementation of sustainability management: it allows time and cost efforts to be reduced; the measurement of the key dimensions of sustainability via pre-defined key performance indicators; and ensures a complete process- and technical-based integration of the solution into the existing infrastructure.

Specifically, msg Sustainability Monitoring offers the following benefits:

  • Satisfaction of statutory requirements and stakeholder demands for transparency and sustainability reporting along the entire value chain
  • High level of efficiency and assurance during implementation, system integration and report automation
  • Highest possible assurance by using best practices and through collaborations with leading universities
  • Complete collection of all data relevant to the topic of sustainability
  • Presentation and evaluation of available potentials by benchmarking against comparable companies
