Increasing demands on professional Business Continuity Management (BCM)

In the life sciences and chemical industry, ensuring business continuity is not just best practice. Rather, it is a legal necessity, as it bears a special responsibility for supplying the population with medicines, some of which are vital. Unforeseen disruptions, whether global pandemics, natural disasters or supply chain disruptions, can have a significant impact on operations. An effective business continuation strategy is therefore of crucial importance.

Integrated approach for comprehensive protection of your business capability

The failure of critical business processes can threaten a company's existence. The biggest challenge lies in identifying and prioritizing important functions that need to be restored after an interruption. These can include research and development, production, distribution and approval.

The measures for quickly restoring the ability to act are based on two key standards: Firstly, the internationally established ISO 22301 standard, which defines requirements for the planning, structured development, implementation, monitoring and improvement of a Business Continuity Management System (BCMS). Secondly, the BSI standard 200-4 (especially in Germany), which formalizes the topic with regard to implementation.

Our Capabilities

msg industry advisors support you in setting up an effective BCMS. Our approach covers all key stages of implementation – from the broad perspective of international guidelines and specifications to detailed action plans for implementation in the plant or plant network.

We support you in developing a viable BCMS roadmap and create the necessary conditions for a successful BCMS implementation.

We accompany the step-by-step BCMS set-up, which initially covers prioritized processes ("reactive BCMS") and can later be further developed as required up to a possible ISO 22301 certification.
